About Me

Dr. Jeffrey Musgrove Sr

My 20 years in the United States Air Force — ultimately serving as a First Sergeant — shaped far more than my career. They shaped my character. Those years taught me what it truly means to serve, to lead, and to stand beside people when they need support the most. That sense of duty has stayed with me, and it’s the reason I’m so committed to helping fellow veterans navigate systems that often feel anything but straightforward.

After retiring from the military, I spent more than two decades in higher education. I taught, mentored, and guided students and emerging leaders, and I loved every moment of watching people grow into their potential. But it wasn’t until I went through the VA disability claims process myself that my purpose shifted. Even with a lifetime of service and leadership behind me, I found the process confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming. And if it was that difficult for me, I knew countless others were feeling the same way.

That realization led me to create Musgrove Collaborative Management Solutions (MCMS) — a veteran-led organization built to educate and empower veterans as they navigate their VA claims journey. We don’t represent veterans, and we’re not accredited claims agents. What we do is equip veterans with the knowledge, structure, and confidence they need to advocate for themselves effectively. Our focus is simple: clarity, preparation, and understanding.

Our Approach

At MCMS, we believe that when veterans understand the process, they can take control of it.
We break the claims journey into clear, manageable steps — gathering evidence, understanding rating criteria, preparing for C&P exams, tracking claim status, and more. The goal is to replace confusion with clarity and uncertainty with confidence.

Everything we do is grounded in the values that guided my military service:

  • Integrity: Being honest, transparent, and accountable in every interaction.
  • Service: Putting people first and helping them succeed.
  • Excellence: Striving for clarity, precision, and continuous improvement.

These principles shape how we support veterans and how we help them move forward with purpose.

Philosophy

My mission is straightforward: to share the leadership and management insights I’ve gained through decades of military and academic service, and to guide veterans in understanding and navigating the VA disability claims process.

No veteran should miss out on the benefits they’ve earned simply because the system is hard to understand. My role — and the role of MCMS — is to make sure every veteran we work with feels better prepared, better informed, and more confident as they pursue the care and compensation they deserve.

As I continue this work, my commitment remains the same: to guide with purpose, educate with compassion, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the veterans I serve.
